Vehicle ChillRail
Retrofits to any high loader, any age, in two days with no vehicle downtime. No engine, no belts, no dry ice, no meaningful payload penalty. Runs on spare vehicle power at Net Zero carbon.
Vehicle ChillRail in detailAn airline cart is an insulated box. A refrigerated truck chills the outside of it. ChillRail forces filtered cold air into each cart instead — so the food reaches temperature, and you can prove it did.
Inalgesco — from the Latin, “to become cold”.
Across Orlando, Tampa and Miami, 36 of those 42 vehicles had factory-fitted Carrier 850 diesel refrigeration. Every single unit, in all three stations, was non-operational.
Two of them were high loaders between two and four years old. The quoted repair cost was $16,000 to $20,000 each, with two to three weeks off-road waiting for parts.
This is not an outlier. It is what engine-driven refrigeration does when it is fitted to a vehicle whose doors open every few minutes on a hot apron.
A plenum the size of a small suitcase, mounted under the vehicle, generates filtered refrigerated air and forces it into each cart through ducts and cart-operated dampers.

Vehicle ChillRail in detailA refrigerated box at high level above the carts, holding everything that does not travel in one — ovens, wet ice, ice cream and galley top items. Same plenum, same logging, no dry ice.
Dispatch ChillRail in detailRemoving the diesel reefer engine removes four costs at once: the fuel it burns, the service schedule it demands, the dry ice bought to cover for it, and the days the vehicle spends off-road being repaired.
On a typical high loader running twelve hours a day, those four streams net out at around $23,800 per truck per year after ChillRail’s own running cost. Payback lands near two years, and ChillRail is cheaper to fit than a traditional refrigeration conversion in the first place.
Fit ChillRail to one truck, leave an identical truck unmodified, and run both on live routes for 30 days. Fuel, service calls, pull-out temperatures and cold-chain compliance all become your own audited data before you commit to anything.
